"Paint brush draining system" was invented by Michael S. Hinds (Natchitoches, La.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The paint brush draining system may comprise a tray and a can coupler. The paint brush draining system may detachably couple to the top of a paint can such that a top aperture of the paint can may be partially covered by the tray. The paint brush draining system may be configured for bristles of a paint brush to be dipped into the paint to load paint and then wiped against an exposed edge of the tray to remove excess paint that may drip back into the paint can.
