ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,459,158, issued on Nov. 4.
"Knife sharpening apparatus and method" was invented by Kenneth A. Wildman (Rochester, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus and method for its use employ a magnet assembly to securely hold a knife by its blade. Along with a carriage and angle adjustment assembly that set and control the sharpening angle of the knife relative to a sharpening surface, the apparatus provides for sharpening of knives such as double hollow ground reed scraping knives, and bevel reed scraping knives."
The patent was filed on Oct. 4, 2021, under Application No. 17/492,878.
