ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,462,715, issued on Nov. 4.
"Illuminated safety flag device" was invented by Dennis Spencer (Landenberg, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An illuminated safety flag device is disclosed. The device is comprised of a flag-like body that can be attached to the bypass pin (and/or landing gear pin) of an aircraft. Once attached, the device can be illuminated such that it draws attention to the pin to notify aircraft personnel that the pin has been inserted (or removed)."
The patent was filed on Aug. 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/449,029.
