According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An advanced trekking staff includes a main shaft, secondary shaft, tip shaft, a housing, and a plurality of concentric shafts. The plurality concentric shafts are slidably disposed within the interior cavity of the main shaft. The main shaft and tip shaft are slidably disposed on the secondary shaft.
