According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A toilet vacuum system uses an opening in a toilet bowl that is communicably coupled with a vacuum pump through a first drainage tube to extract gases and odors from a toilet bowl. The vacuum pump may be communicably coupled with an opening in the toilet bowl to remove gases as they are created. The toilet seat may further have a gasket to help seal in gases and odors to allow gases to be removed from the toilet bowl without escaping.
