According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A defense recorder system and mobile application-implemented process are disclosed. The defense recorder system and mobile application-implemented process combines GPS location to record in public areas when local laws state that audio recording is only legal in public areas. Single party consent states will not require the GPS function but will require the constant audio recording to be made in a loop, deleting the oldest of files automatically."
