According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A magnetic clip includes a first member comprising a load arm and an effort arm, a magnet, and a fulcrum where the load and effort arms meet, the fulcrum including a protrusion and a depression. The magnetic clip also includes a second member comprising a load arm and an effort arm, a magnet or ferromagnetic material for being attracted to the magnet of the first member, such that the load arm of the first member is attracted to the load arm of the second member and, a fulcrum in the second member including ...
