According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of assembling a primer for a firearm cartridge including the steps of providing a primer cup including a cup base with a circular sidewall extending perpendicularly upward from a perimeter edge thereof, to a rim. Providing an anvil having an anvil base and pressing the anvil into the primer cup with the anvil base spaced apart from the cup base to form a primer gap therebetween.
