"Putting alignment system and method" was invented by Michael Bidney (Eden Prairie, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A putting alignment device having a recess that is adapted to receive a portion of a golf ball. The putting alignment device also includes a plurality of angular indicia."
