According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A heated fishing pole assembly for inhibiting the formation of ice on a fishing pole includes a fishing pole that has a handle, a rod extending away from the handle and a plurality of line guides distributed along the rod. A handle heating element is integrated into the handle of the fishing pole to heat the handle thereby inhibiting the formation of ice on the handle.
