ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,466,334, issued on Nov. 11.
"Camera array systems and devices, including floating plate configurations and split plate configurations" was invented by Michael Shawn Lawler (Yelm, Wash.) and Ian Sharples (Epsom, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A camera array system featuring a plurality of camera clusters attached to a plurality of multi-prong stabilized mounting plates arranged in a split-rig configuration, with the mounting plates configured for mounting the camera clusters onto a moving vehicle."
The patent was filed on May 20, 2024, under Application No. 18/668,605.
