ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,465,539, issued on Nov. 11.

"Adjustable headrest" was invented by Brian Scott Bowen (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and Hsiang-Feng Chen Carroll (Greenwood Village, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Herein is disclosed an adjustable headrest comprising: a base mountable to a treatment table; a slider rail mounted to the base; a support arm configured to slide along the slider rail; a lockable ball joint mounted to the support arm; a support member mounted to the ball joint; and a faceplate mounted to the support member."

The patent was filed on Oct. 22, 2024, under Application No. 18/923,557.
