ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,226, issued on May 27.

"Wine bottle opening device" was invented by Cheryl Jones (Cushing, Okla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wine bottle opening device is provided. The device is comprised of a wine bottle opening device with a set of adjustable spring jaws. The jaws can be adjusted around a wine bottle cork or cap to facilitate easy removal. The device may also be comprised of an integrated corkscrew and an integrated bottle opener."

The patent was filed on Jan. 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/406,361.
