ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,310,475, issued on May 27.

"Transition contact lens changer case" was invented by Omar R. Fontanez Canuelas (San Juan, Puerto Rico).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A portable transitional contact lens storage case for the storage of photochromic contact lenses so that they may be safely stored and pre-transition from the clear, non-darkened normal state to their darkened state while still in the case through the exposure of the lens to a controlled Ultraviolet (UV) and/or High-Energy Visible (HEV) light source."

The patent was filed on Nov. 16, 2022, under Application No. 17/988,046.
