"Turbine-induced ICCP system for metallic pipelines" was invented by Isaiah Ruehle-May (Oak Park, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A turbine-induced Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system for metallic pipelines utilizes the kinetic energy of fluid flow within the pipeline to generate electrical power for corrosion protection. The system includes a turbine installed within a pipeline appurtenance, such as an air release valve, allowing operation without pipeline drainage or decompression.
