According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hammock tree stand device and assembly. In one embodiment, a suspended seat includes a base platform; a vertical support stanchion secured at one end of the base platform; a canted seat support secured at an opposing end of the platform; and an elongated flexible body removably secured to the canted seat support at one end and to the vertical post at the opposite end.
