According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cover for a long firearm has excess fabric in sidewalls of the cover body and has a long scope pocket attached at the top edge of the cover body with an open passage into the scope pocket. An elastic loop encircles the open passage to an exit point where opposite cord ends of the loop extend into a size adjuster where the ends are engaged in a selective cord lock that fixes the degree of applied tension in the loop.
