ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,260,843, issued on March 25.

"Percussion sound attenuation system" was invented by Max Yoshimoto (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention is a sound-attenuating system operative to attach to a surface of a metallic percussion instrument, and attenuate sound produced by striking the sound-attenuating system with a drum stick."

The patent was filed on Dec. 16, 2022, under Application No. 18/083,170.
