ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,253,715, issued on March 18.
"MEMS-driven optical package with micro-LED array" was invented by Matthew E. Ward (Philadelphia) and Jeremy Hochman (Walnut, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An optical light package includes an optical output lens, an optical filter located thereunder and between the output lens and LEDS, a tray of LEDs arrayed on a stage mounted on a linear comb based MEMS device that is distributed in such a way that the stage is movable, and a driver that controls movement of the stage."
The patent was filed on Aug. 25, 2020, under Application No. 17/002,295.
