ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,356, issued on March 18.
"Cane with linear adjustable hydraulic shock absorber end" was invented by Walter D Allen (Binghamton, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A novel end assembly for canes and other walking aids having a linear adjustable hydraulic shock absorber threaded into the distal end of the cane and facility for mounting various cane and walking aid ends."
The patent was filed on Jan. 23, 2023, under Application No. 18/158,124.
