ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,044, issued on March 18.

"Barbeque device to prolong fuel burning and its method of use" was invented by Laurence Edward Trigg (Santa Clara, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A barbecue device to prolong fuel burning comprising a plurality of vertical walls that are cut from an elongate strip such that they provide fuel containment and air openings without removing or discarding any material needed to provide said air openings for the fuel."

The patent was filed on Dec. 8, 2023, under Application No. 18/533,659.
