ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,245,654, issued on March 11.

"Foldable helmet" was invented by Mordehai Sholev (Amikam, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A foldable helmet is provided. The helmet includes a plurality of struts hingedly interconnected thereby enabling the struts to splay out from a closed packed state. Each strut includes a hinge along a length of the strut for folding the strut and a plurality of cutouts allowing the strut to bow in a direction opposite a fold direction of the hinge."

The patent was filed on June 8, 2022, under Application No. 18/567,987.
