ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,247,979, issued on March 11.
"Compositions and methods for capturing exosomes" was invented by Gale W. Newman (Duluth, Ga.), Samuel Anyanwu (Atlanta) and James W. Lillard Jr. (Smyrna, Ga.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions and kits for exosome capture include an antibody specifically binding the human asparagine-linked glycosylation 6 homolog (ALG6). The compositions and kits may be employed in a method for diagnosing a disease or condition in a subject."
The patent was filed on Feb. 21, 2023, under Application No. 18/172,059.
