According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A switch clasp has a first part and a second part. The second part has a first set of zip teeth and the first part has a complementary set of zip teeth. A sensor is responsive to engagement and disengagement of the first and second parts to switch from a first condition to a second condition and a signal corresponding to the condition is output.
