ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,322,277, issued on June 3.
"Intelligent emergency evacuation system" was invented by Christian Poirier (Saint-Leonard, Canada), Marc Rondeau (Laval, Canada) and Sarwarul Chowdhury (Montreal).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Technologies for an emergency evacuation system include a system operator and one or more emergency lighting units located in a building. Each emergency lighting unit further includes a processor, communication circuitry configured to communicate with the system operator, and a light indicator configured to be illuminated to indicate an exit of the building."
