According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cleaning apparatus for use with a water source, the cleaning apparatus including a handheld cleaning device that includes a transducer therein that is capable of stimulating water located inside a body of the handheld cleaning device, such that bubbles created by the excitation of the water via the transducer can be used to provide a cleaning effect, for example to clean the surface of a soiled object by way of bubbles bursting at, on or near the surface of the object."
