ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,337,000, issued on June 24.

"Therapeutic modulators of the reverse mode of ATP synthase" was invented by Michael David Forrest (Poole, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compounds of the following formula (I) slow the ATP-hydrolysing mode of ATP synthase and are useful for treating various diseases and disorders including cancer, particularly cancers that utilise the Warburg effect."

The patent was filed on July 13, 2018, under Application No. 16/629,390.
