According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A trap for confining a fish to an ice hole to facilitate successfully catching the fish includes an upper plate having an upper plate aperture. A shaft is movably coupled to the upper plate within the aperture. A trap plate is attached to the shaft. Rotation of the shaft moves the trap plate between open and closed positions.
