According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention is a doll shoe that can be used and reliably retained on a wide variety of doll feet. The doll shoe includes a conical or tapered top opening configured to receive and cover at least a toe or foot portion of a doll foot. The opening includes a plurality of retention elements that function to grip and retain the doll foot within the opening.
