ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,611, issued on June 24.

"Apparatus for curling hair" was invented by Gary Sunderland (Yorkshire, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatus for curling hair comprises first and second side portions which are secured together in a spaced apart relationship via a connector portion. The connector portion is positioned substantially centrally with respect to each side portion. The connector portion has a length of not more than 20 mm. The side portions are fabricated from a material which is both resilient and thermally conductive."

The patent was filed on Dec. 12, 2016, under Application No. 16/061,605.
