ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,330,753, issued on June 17.

"Marine-life safe and self propelled navigational buoy" was invented by Mary Donick (Surprise, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A navigational buoy that includes a finned, hollow, transparent, spherical shell that floats on water. A multi-wheeled motor-unit sits inside the shell, and ballast weights attached to the motor unit cause it to rest on the bottom of the shell. A biasing structure attached to the motor unit, lights, and other aspects are included in some embodiments."

The patent was filed on Feb. 12, 2022, under Application No. 17/650,848.
