ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,231, issued on June 17.
"Easy tear adhesive tape" was invented by Donald Twedt (Lake Elmo, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An adhesive tape includes an elongated substrate with a series of perforations forming a tear line extending along a length of the elongated substrate, an adhesive substantially covering a first surface of the elongated substrate, and a cord attached to the elongated substrate by the adhesive, the cord extending along the length of the elongated substrate adjacent to the series of perforations."
The patent was filed on July 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/780,738.
