"Composite material, sheet, and heat insulator" was invented by Naoyoshi Sato (Minato-ku, Japan), Tomohiko Kotake (Minato-ku, Japan), Hiroyuki Izumi (Minato-ku, Japan) and Satoshi Takayasu (Minato-ku, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composite material containing aerogel particles and at least one cellulose-based resin selected from the group consisting of cellulose and a cellulose derivative, in which a content of the aerogel particles is 95 vol % or more.
