ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,325,989, issued on June 10.

"Vacuum breaker water capturing device and shield" was invented by James Snyder (Ramona, Calif.) and Mary Snyder (Ramona, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A water capturing device is provided having a body which is operatively engageable with a spigot assembly having a spigot with a vacuum breaker thereon. An axial passage of the body of the device, when in operative engagement, collects and redirects water expelled from the vacuum breaker downward out a discharge opening where it may be collected and used elsewhere."

The patent was filed on Dec. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/979,463.
