According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A modular bolt action for a bolt action firearm is provided. The bolt action includes a receiver and a bolt assembly, the receiver being reconfigurable in a variety of different ways to accommodate a variety of different bolt assemblies.
