ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,356, issued on July 8.

"Topical sunscreen" was invented by Tony LaRosa (Woodland Hills, Calif.), Robert Davidson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and David Reid (Woodland Hills, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein is a topical sunscreen composition that includes an external sunscreen agent, one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients, and at least one of a cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid. Also provided is a method that includes topically administering to a skin surface of a subject (e.g., human) the topical sunscreen composition."

The patent was filed on July 14, 2020, under Application No. 16/947,002.
