According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A slide hammer assembly for driving a stake into ground without a hand held hammer includes a stake that has a tapered end to facilitate the tapered end to penetrate ground. A lower pipe has a receiver that is distally positioned with respect to a striking head and the receiver insertably receives the stake.
