ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,352,535, issued on July 8.
"Impact resistant material" was invented by Steven Baranowitz (Wyncote, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The current disclosure is directed to an impact resistant material made from a novel melanin composite. It has been found that using these composites allows for the production of effective ballistic protection and blast containment materials."
The patent was filed on June 17, 2019, under Application No. 17/253,390.
