ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. PP36,870, issued on July 29.
"Miscanthus plant named 'Lady in Red'" was invented by Krzysztof Slowinski (Ladek, Poland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Miscanthus plant named 'Lady in Red' is disclosed, characterized by spectacular red foliage in autumn. Red autumn leaves contrast beautifully with silvery-white flower panicles. Plants are low-maintenance and winter-hardy. The new variety is a Miscanthus, typically produced as an outdoor ornamental plant."
The patent was filed on Nov. 18, 2024, under Application No. 18/951,034.
