ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,369,665, issued on July 29.

"Knit brim and uses thereof" was invented by Hashim Wali (Watertown, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein is a brim set for a knit hat, which can include an adjustable strap in a circular shape configured to be placed inside the knit hat, a brim attachment, and a connector to connect the brim attachment onto the adjustable strap. Also disclosed herein is a knit hat including the brim set, and a method of making a knit hat using the brim set."

The patent was filed on May 29, 2020, under Application No. 17/615,251.
