"Device for monitoring and measuring concussions and head impact" was invented by Marc McNeese (St. Augustine, Fla.) and Shandra McNeese (St. Augustine, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device for measuring parameters associated with concussions due to impacts to the head of a person using a mouthpiece with a sensor that is configured to contact one or more bones of a person's face, such as the maxilla bone. The device may include a number of inflatable air pockets to aid in retaining the position of the sensor.
