According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A rotary spark gap that operates as a high-speed, high-voltage switch includes a rotor assembly having a plurality of rotors and a plurality of insulating spacers mounted on a rotatable rotor shaft with the rotors spaced and separated by the insulating spacers in an axial direction. Each rotor has a plurality of rotor points on the periphery and spaced apart around the outer circumference of the rotor.
