ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,467, issued on July 22.

"Ring release systems and methods utilizing a removable pin" was invented by Roy L. Fox Jr. (Yuma, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A ring release system is configured to releasably couple a parachute to a payload. The ring release system may comprise a series of release rings affixed to a riser. At least one release ring comprises a removable pin, permitting installation of the release ring after associated components have been stitched together, improving the reliability and manufacturability of the ring release system."

The patent was filed on Sept. 22, 2023, under Application No. 18/472,926.
