"Method for treating poxvirus infections" was invented by Jeffrey Langland (Chandler, Ariz.), Karen Denzler (Phoenix), Robert Waters (Mesa, Ariz.) and Bertram Jacobs (Tempe, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates generally methods of preparation and use of certain botanical extracts for the treatment of viral infections."

The patent was filed on Oct. 19, 2020, under Application No. 17/074,415.
