ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,367,856, issued on July 22.
"Handbell cushion" was invented by Derek Lee Davis (Phoenix) and Mareike Davis (Phoenix).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device for improving the useability of a handbell, by distributing the weight of the handbell more evenly across the player's supporting hand, thereby mitigating the discomfort of the pressure of the handbell."
The patent was filed on Aug. 22, 2022, under Application No. 17/892,952.
