ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. PP36,853, issued on July 22.

"Begonia plant named 'Neon Moon'" was invented by Ozzie W. Johnson Jr. (Marietta, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Begonia plant named 'Neon Moon' is disclosed, characterized by its dark green foliage mottled with silver. Plants exhibit a clumping plant form, root hardiness, and large leaf size. Flowers are light pink with darker pink flower buds. The new cultivar is a Begonia, typically suited for garden and ornamental container use."

The patent was filed on Nov. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/944,068.
