ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,358,590, issued on July 15.

"Pedal" was invented by Chang-Hsin Wu (Chiayi County, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pedal includes a pedal body, a force detection module, a rotation shaft, an insulating sleeve, electrically conductive rings, and contact elements. The pedal body has a first accommodating space and a second accommodating space. The force detection module is disposed in the first accommodating space. The rotation shaft passes through the pedal body. Annular accommodating regions and wire perforations are recessed from a surface of the rotation shaft.
