ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,649, issued on July 15.

"Glycoalkaloid combinations and various uses thereof" was invented by Bill Elliot Cham (Efate, Vanuatu), Tania Robyn Chase (Efate, Vanuatu) and Kai Elliot Cham (Sheldon, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to the use of glycoalkaloids, such as solasonine and solamargine, in treatment of cancer such as skin cancer, and to compositions for use in such treatment. More particularly the present invention relates to providing an improved, substantially stable formulation for the glycoalkaloids which minimises or reduces degradation of these active molecules."
