ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,347,279, issued on July 1.

"Virtual race course generating and vehicle wagering system and method" was invented by Todd Christopher Robinson (McLean, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of utilizing vehicle telematics to create a vehicle wagering network by connecting vehicles to mapping and traffic data. Connected vehicles transmitting real-time telemetric data form the basis for wagers."

The patent was filed on Sept. 4, 2024, under Application No. 18/823,800.
