ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,347,990, issued on July 1.
"Transmission and distribution line tap-connector removal tool" was invented by Chase Nelson (Turlock, Calif.) and Michael Nelson (Turlock, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides an improved wedge connector removal tool for disconnecting a transmission line wedge tap connection and the methods of using such a tool. The tool may couple to a wedge connector around the transmission lines enabling a lineman's hands to be free from supporting the tool, and the wedge may be removed from the connection without the incorporation of powder charges."
